These physicians need to have years of rigorous surgical training, not some weekend course, side interest, or internet training video experience.

It is critical to know your doctor is authentically “board certified”. To obtain this certification, surgeons are required to endure testing and analysis of their surgical results. Depending on the type of procedure you intend to get, it is important to know which medical board has credibility based on that procedure and stick with the person recognized by that board.

When consulting with physicians, have a good understanding of their qualifications like how many years they have been in that particular field and the number of procedures they have performed that you are interested in.

Considering your cosmetic ambitions, what options does your physician of choice offer? Are they set on only selling you in one direction (which is much pricier compared to competitors), or have they let you know of the different ways they can help meet your need, only needing your final decision?

Having the good doctor-patient relationship with a surgeon is something all patients desire. When you select your surgeon, you’re selecting their office as well. The staff, facility, character and reputation, history, length of time in practice, results and responsibility to quality patient care are important critical points consider.

6. Post Surgical Care

Be clear you know how the practice will communicate with you before and after your surgery, as well as how they will attend to your needs. Are the staff members appropriately licensed and certified? Are they making follow-up calls to confirm appointments in advance? Does the doctor communicate genuine interest and concern in your individual case? These are questions to be asked before during and after any experience receiving surgical care.

7. Doctor Visit Privileges

Does the office offer time to see the physician when needed? Will they treat you as a new comer after your surgery with them, or will they treat you as an honored guest? Be clear to make sure they give you the time of day after surgery and the doctor will be happy to assist when needed.

8. Overall Good Experience

If you walk away from your appointments and procedure(s) satisfied, then you are probably in a good place where you are safe and cared for. This is the most important quality of all because it asks what your intuitive feeling is. If it’s good, then you are probably in the right place!

In studies of Botox for cosmetic use (to improve the appearance of lines between the eyebrows), common side effects included:

•    Droopy eyelids that may be seen in up to 3 percent of people
•    Nausea in up to 3 percent
•    Muscle weakness in up to 2 percent
•    Facial pain in up to 2 percent
In studies of Botox for treating medical conditions rather than for cosmetic purposes, the following common Botox side effects were reported:
•    Droopy eyelids that may be seen in up to 20.8 percent of people
•    Difficulty swallowing in up to 19 percent
•    Vertical misalignment of the eye like eye vertical deviation in up to 16.9 percent
•    Upper respiratory infection like common cold up to 12 percent
•    Neck pain in up to 11 percent
•    Headache in about 11 percent

Other common side effects (occurring in 2 to 10 percent of people) included:
•    Cough
•    Back pain
•    Runny or stuffy nose
•    Dizziness
•    Soreness at the injection site
•    Weakness
•    Dry mouth
•    Drowsiness
•    Bleeding at the injection site
•    Infection
•    Sore throat
•    Anxiety
•    Bronchitis
•    High blood pressure (hypertension)
•    Nausea
•    Fatigue
I recommend that you consult your cosmetic doctor if you notice any of the following side effects of Botox as soon as possible.

This past weekend I went to a day spa for a relaxing massage. Though the location I went to was boasted as one of the most inexpensive and worthwhile for a working person, I soon understood why.

Upon entering the spa, everything seemed soothing and relaxed from the front desk receptionist to the plush couches and cushioned floor mats. I immediately kicked back and started reading a current magazine that was left out for those in waiting.

When my name was called 10 minutes early (leaving me plenty of time to change and relax for the massage) I was a bit shocked. Most places that I was used to would wait to start you right on the minute, whereas this spa was starting my massage early and expecting to still go to the end of my alloted hour.

As my massage began, I was again shocked by the quality of my masseuse. I personally like deep tissue massages and can rarely find someone (especially a female) who can, without struggle, offer the amount of pressure I ask for. This masseuse was perfect. Along with everything else thus far, I had actively decided to make this spa my new home.

Then it happened. 10 minutes into my massage a jackhammer started going off outside. The masseuse apologized for the ruckus and non-stop construction, but my entire experience made a turn for the worse within about 15 minutes of jackhammering and sawing outside of the office.

Unfortunately construction is a regular on Ventura Blvd. and they seem to get the worst of it. While this was an all around amazing experience, it was simple to see how one error could completely turn around someones entire personal experience.

This instance made me began thinking about businesses in general. By offering the highest quality and services performed by the best, you can ensure the start of a good practice. BUT if attempting to cut corners in a business (i.e.-  a less expensive location with constant construction vs. a more expensive location boasting the same quality that your inner office portrays) you must prepare for a percentage of lost clients. 

There will always be things in life that should be done better or in a more efficient manner, but retaining consistent quality in a business is the best way to ensure constant clients and top notch referrals. How often is LATISSE^® recommended to be used after having it prescibed to me? 
The solution is recommended for use one time per day (at night) for longer, thicker lashes.

Is LATISSE^® an eyedrop? 
No, LATISSE^® is a solution used somewhat like a liquid eyeliner and applied to both top eyelids at night.

Does Brooke Shields really use LATISSE^®?
Yes, Brooke Shields does use LATISSE^® 

How long do I have to use LATISSE^® to see the full effects?
Use of LATISSE^® is recommended daily for at least 16 weeks in order to see its full effects. Thereafter the 16 week mark, you should discuss extended use with your LATISSE^® prescriber. Effects are first able to be seen around the 4 week mark.

How much does Latisse cost?

Increased brown iris pigmentation has occurred when the same formulation of bimatoprost ophthalmic solution was instilled directly into the eye to treat elevated intraocular pressure. Although iris pigmentation was not reported in clinical studies with LATISSE^®, patients should be advised about the potential for increased brown iris pigmentation which is likely permanent.

What happens when I stop using LATISSE^® ?
Upon discontinued use of Latisse, your eyelashes will return to their original appearance before its use. This will occur over the few weeks/months following its discontinuation.

How does LATISSE^® work?
LATISSE^® is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. The exact way LATISSE^® works is unknown.
